Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As an official for the Space and Defense Department she covers all aspects of space including NASA to the newly created Space Force as well as commercial space companies and tourism in space. Kristin was raised in the field of space as the daughter and granddaughter of NASA astronauts. For the last five years, she's covered space policies under Biden and Trump administrations in FOX News. During that time, she also reported on two impeachment trials for the president, the 2020 presdiential campaign, and two administration's efforts to contain the coronavirus pandemic. Kristin was on the road frequently, and both with the vice president and president. She even went on a top-secret trip to Afghanistan along with Donald Trump. Kristin was a fixture in the newsrooms of local markets like Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for over a decade before being hired by the network. Kristin was the recipient of one Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as the CBS affiliate's single-man reporter. Using her skills on the set, Kristin established Field Mouse Films in 2014, which was a specialist in documentary style films for corporate clients including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. She is married to her husband and their two children in Washington, D.C., and she has a 3 year old daughter.
